Stray Cat Rescue Organization

Enriching lives, one cat at a time.

Whisker Rescue is a non-profit charitable organization (#85142 3426 RR0001) located in Red Deer, Alberta, whiskerrescue@live.com, that strives to provide basic needs such as shelter, food, medical attention, and adoption opportunities to stray, homeless & surrendered cats in our care.  We are a no-kill organization that relies on volunteers & foster families to give every cat that enters our adoption program the time, patience, love and cuddles they need until their forever homes can be found.

Each cat is vet checked, tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV viruses, vaccinated, de-wormed, spayed or neutered, and tattooed or micro-chipped. The adoption fee is $125, and cats 8 years and older are $65.  This also includes a Lifetime Return Policy, with a full refund within one month of the date of adoption!

Although we do not have a shelter, we are fortunate to work in cooperation with several facilities in Red Deer that have generously donated space to help us adopt our lucky felines into loving homes.

Our cats can be visited and adopted in Red Deer through the Deer Park Pet Hospital at 420-Allan Street, Piper Creek Veterinary Hospital at #1-166-37428 Range Road 273, and at several PetSmart locations across Alberta;  RedDeer (5001-19th Street), Edmonton (3289 Calgary Trail & 2066-38th Ave NW), and Calgary in South Trail Crossing (81-4307-130th Ave SE). In addition, we would like to acknowledge & sincerely thank two more generous community contributors.  Firstly, Whisker Rescue Society thanks The Government of Alberta for their generous Community Spirit Grant of $13,243.60 in 2010. This grant is funded through the Alberta Lottery Fund to build stronger communities and enhance the quality of life for Albertans.  Secondly, Whisker Rescue would like to thank Olds College, for partnering with us.  We recognize Olds College for the benefit and value of the medical/surgical procedures for adoptive families, as well as their donations & massive community support!

Please understand, we are a small society run by just a few cat lovers.  We will do our best to assist those who need to surrender their cats (print off the surrender form here), but currently have a waiting list for the less urgent situations.
